Put simply, a Red Book valuation involves an RICS Registered Valuer assessing your property and providing a formal report on the current market value of the property for the purpose required.
This might include valuations for:

Calculating probate or Capital Gains Tax
Transferring assets into a SIPP pension fund
Private property sales, including compulsory purchases and shared ownership purchases
Dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration or court proceedings
